Peggy Fulcher Girouard was born on October 25, 1933 to Zora and JB Fulcher in Corpus Christi, Texas and died at age 84, on Sunday, January 21, 2018, after a lengthy illness.

Peggy grew up in Houston, graduating from Edison Elementary, Stephen F. Austin High School and the University of Houston, where she was a regular performer in the UH's famed Frontier Fiesta. Her lifetime passion was her chosen career as a dance instructor, including ballet, tap and jazz since 1951. Peggy began her love for dance at the Hallie Pritchard School of Dance, in Houston. Later she joined the Emmamae Horn School, as both a student and a teacher, where she would remain for many years, until Mrs. Horn's retirement. She collaborated with her friend and co-faculty member, Glenda Brown and together they established the Allegro Academy of Dance, where she taught until her retirement 10 years ago. Peggy was a founding member of Allegro Ballet of Houston (a non-profit, founded in 1951) where she was a Director and active member of the Faculty for many years. She was a member of Dance Masters of America, and the National Association of Region Ballet, a founding member of Regional Dance America in 1987, where she remained a Life Member. Peggy was a lover of the arts, particularly musical theater and dance. She had season tickets to every arts group in the city and was an avid and devoted supporter of local talent.

Peggy is survived by her husband, James C. Boles of Houston, children: Linné Girouard and Richard E. Girouard (wife Marlene); Elizabeth Boles Moy (husband Isadore), Alicia Elwood (husband Mike), Dial Boles and John Boles. Grandchildren: Autumn Espinosa, Ashley René Girouard, Lilieth Garrison and Lisseth Martinez, AJ Moy, Shanna Coulson, Taylor Boles, Brett Carlet, Stephanie Boles and Cameron Boles. Great-Grandchildren: Dario, Vincent, Bray, Addison, Cash, Christopher and Alex, as well as a host of friends and relatives.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to the caring staff at Brookdale, Spring Shadows, as well as Brookdale Hospice.

A service will be planned for later, this spring at Forest Park Lawndale. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to All Texas Dachshund Rescue, Allegro Ballet of Houston and the Alzheimer's Association Houston and Southeast Texas.
