Maria Bixio
Born August 5, 1926 - Died March 28, 2015

Maria was born under the sign of Leo, which reflected in her spirit as being self-reliant and outgoing. She enjoyed life to the fullest, before being called by our Lord at the age of 88.

Maria was preceded in death by her parents; Anita and Benjamin Cuellar, first husband Hugo Bixio, her brothers, Father Leonard Cuellar, Benjamin Cuellar Jr., sisters Carmen Valley, Consuelo Martinez, Guadalupe Cuellar, and brother-in-laws, Arthur Martinez, Tony Casarez, and Jerry Valley; including sister-in-law Pauline Cuellar.

Maria was educated in San Antonio, before moving to Houston Texas, where she was employed by Southwestern Bell Telephone Company, and after 40 years of service she retired from the company. While there she met her husband to be, Hugo Bixio. Both Maria and Hugo were involved with the Boy Scouts of America, who served as their extended family seeing them grow from Cub-scouts to responsible young adults. Many years later after Hugo passed away, she met her nephew's brother-in-law, Delfino Lopez, the second love of her life who she married.

Maria is survived by her second husband Delfino Lopez, a brother Joe "Pepe" Cuellar, two beloved sisters, Delores Casarez from Weslaco Texas, and Connie "Chita" Hinojosa and husband Lionel Hinojosa in Sunnyvale California, including numerous nephews, nieces and friends.
